Why Choose Mauritius for Your Company?
Mauritius has established itself as a leading international financial centre, offering a unique combination of fiscal advantages, legal stability, and strategic geographic positioning. Whether you are looking to set up a holding company, a trading entity, or an investment vehicle, Mauritius provides the ideal framework.
Types of Companies in Mauritius
Global Business Company (GBC)
The GBC is the flagship structure for international business in Mauritius. Licensed by the Financial Services Commission (FSC), a GBC benefits from access to Mauritius's extensive network of double taxation agreements and an effective corporate tax rate of just 3% through the partial exemption regime.
The GBC is ideal for holding companies, trading operations, financial services, and any activity requiring substance and international credibility. It requires at least two resident directors and must maintain its central management and control in Mauritius.
Authorised Company (AC)
The Authorised Company is designed for businesses that conduct operations exclusively outside Mauritius. It offers a simplified regulatory framework with lower costs and faster setup. While it does not benefit from DTAs, it is an excellent choice for e-commerce, consulting, and IP holding activities.
Other Structures
Mauritius also offers specialized vehicles including Protected Cell Companies (PCC), Variable Capital Companies (VCC), and limited partnerships. These structures cater to specific needs such as fund management, insurance, and structured finance.
The Incorporation Process
- Initial consultation — We assess your needs, business model, and objectives to recommend the optimal structure.
- Due diligence & documentation — Collection of KYC/AML documents: passport, proof of address, CV, bank reference, business plan.
- Company registration — Filing with the Registrar of Companies and, for GBCs, application to the FSC for licensing.
- Bank account opening — Assistance with opening a corporate bank account in Mauritius or internationally.
- Ongoing compliance — Annual filings, tax returns, financial statements, and regulatory reporting managed by our team.
